چکیده
Another health economic evaluation, which dealt with a similar question in the USA, indicated with the help of a Markov model cost savings of 5,904 € per patient. Unlike the presented pilot run of the discrete event simulation model these costs refer to the lifetime costs of a venous leg ulcer and are not meant per year. Considering that the average duration of a venous leg ulcer is 8.9 years,7 also in Germany costs savings in the middle four-figure range per patient can be recorded. Methodology II

Several recent advances in wound care may offer promise for the treatment of hard-to-heal venous leg ulcers. One such treatment is Apligraf (Graftskin), a bilayered, living human skin construct. To assess the economic impact of Graftskin, a model was constructed to compare the annual medical costs and cost-effectiveness of treating hard-to-heal venous leg ulcers with Graftskin vs. compression t...
متن کاملEpidemiology and use of compression treatment in venous leg ulcers: nationwide claims data analysis in Germany.
